Job summary

Amplify is seeking an Instructional Coach for Literacy to join the Professional Development team, supporting LAUSD during the 2026-2027 year. The role focuses on science of reading pedagogy, high-quality literacy materials, and coaching leaders and teachers to improve student outcomes.

The position entails onsite coaching, remote PD, and collaboration with district leadership to strengthen literacy instruction across LAUSD and other districts as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching foundational skills with Science of Reading pedagogy.
• 2+ years leading sustained coaching for educators in K-5.
• 5+ years of K-5 classroom literacy teaching with positive outcomes.
• Experience in educational leadership.
• Experience analyzing data to inform practice.
• Proficient with MS Office and Google Workspace.
• Willing to commute to Los Angeles schools up to four days/week.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with leadership to determine coaching strategy and focus for the school year.
• Plan and lead region-wide and district-wide PD for teachers and leaders, in-person and remote.
• Conduct observations and provide feedback to strengthen literacy instruction.
• Deliver model small-group instruction and co-teaching with classroom teachers.
• Facilitate PLCs and office hours, including data analysis and planning.
• Offer recommendations to improve equitable learning outcomes for diverse students.
• Provide ongoing PD support for district initiatives.
• Maintain knowledge of Amplify Literacy Suite to ensure cohesive educator experience.
