Job summary

Girls Inc. of Boston and Lynn seeks a Literacy and Enrichment Coordinator to lead the literacy program for girls across the organization. This on-site role manages the Lynn Center library, develops hands-on curriculum, and coordinates literacy volunteers.

The position supports School Age Child Care (SACC) programming, reports to the Director of SACC, and requires a blend of instructional and community outreach skills to promote reading growth and family engagement.

Qualifications

• Experience working with school-age youth from diverse cultures and abilities.
• Massachusetts driver's license and willingness to obtain 7D pupil transport license.
• Certified in First Aid and CPR.
• Strong group facilitation skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent organizational, presentation, verbal and written communication skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to work the standard school-year schedule (Mon–Fri, 9:30 am–5:30 pm) with occasional evenings/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of a creative, hands-on literacy curriculum with staff.
• Identify girls with low reading scores and provide access to tutoring.
• Manage library operations at the Lynn Center.
• Organize literacy volunteers and collaborate with the Volunteer Coordinator.
• Train new staff and volunteers and assist with planning sessions.
