Job summary

Houston County Board of Education seeks an Educational Coach (Literacy) to support literacy coaching across LRPS, RES, and SHES. You will lead teachers in implementing best practices for behavior management and reading instruction aligned with district standards.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Education and a Georgia Professional Teaching Certificate, plus several years of classroom experience. Collaboration, data analysis, and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education is required.
• Five years of professional teaching in a classroom setting preferred.
• Must possess or be eligible for a valid Georgia Professional Teaching Certificate.
• Ability to write professional correspondences and reports.
• Ability to present and articulate information to individuals and groups.

Responsibilities

• Observes and models instructional/behavior management strategies with feedback.
• Plans collaboratively with teachers and develops engaging instructional activities.
• Provides mentoring to classroom teachers.
• Leads professional learning as requested by principals/supervisors.
• Identifies and provides evidence-based instructional/behavioral resources.
• Collects and reports achievement/behavior data to inform decisions.
• Meets with administrators and teachers to plan next steps.
