Requirements To File

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Curriculum Instruction, Liberal Arts, Social Work, Public Administration, or closely related field. Experience offering specific and substantial preparation for the duties of the position may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
  • One (1) year full-time professional experience offering specific and substantial preparation for the duties of the position. A Master’s Degree in Business, Public Administration, or closely related field from an accredited college or university may be substituted for up to one (1) year of the required professional experience.
  • A valid driver's license or the ability to arrange necessary and timely transportation for field travel.
  • Must be available to work evenings and weekends.
  • Required documents, such as transcripts must be uploaded to the online application in PDF format at the time of filing. Any documents submitted must contain either the applicant's name or other identifying characteristics on the document. Proof of education for academic degrees should indicate the type of degree and date of degree conferral. Candidates who possess degrees or units from outside the United States must attach proof of educational equivalency at the time of filing.

Desireable Qualifications

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Ability to adapt and work in a changing library environment
  • Familiarity with grant funded programs
  • Experience developing literacy and/or ESL program curriculum and documentation

  • Ability to learn, interpret, retain, and communicate technical and complex information, terminology, policies and procedures related to grant programs and compliance;
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing;
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions and procedures;
  • Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team;
  • Ability to work effectively with a wide variety of people by consistently exercising tact, good judgment, and a pro-active, problem-solving focused communication style;
  • Ability to operate office equipment including computers, printers, and copiers as well as word processing, spreadsheet, email, database, and program specific applications.
