Job summary

Chicago Public Schools (CPS) seeks a Literacy Content Specialist to advance PreK-12 literacy across the district. Reporting to the Literacy Manager, you'll collaborate with Content Teams, ISLs, and network partners to ensure a coherent vision for Skyline-based literacy and equitable outcomes.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred), a valid ISBE teaching certificate, and at least five years of classroom and teacher leadership experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Valid ISBE teaching certificate with appropriate endorsement required.
  • LBSI/ESL/Bilingual endorsement preferred.
  • Minimum five years of professional experience in education.

Responsibilities

  • Design and facilitate role‑specific professional learning for teachers and leaders.
  • Lead and collaborate on Literacy Vision work streams across CPS departments.
  • Contribute to district-wide resources, guidance, and MTSS/assessment strategies.
  • Stay current with literacy research and best practices; maintain content expertise.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
