Job summary

Camp Cosby YMCA seeks a Summer LIT/CIT Director to supervise and mentor teen staff (ages 15-16) and ensure the safety, growth, and happiness of campers. You will lead staff training, schedule activities, and enforce camp policies while coordinating meals and ensuring high morale across the team.

You will work with the Activities Director and Program Coordinator to maintain a positive camp culture, document incidents, and provide timely guidance to staff and campers throughout the session.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be able to obtain CPR/First Aid certifications.
• Have 2 years of prior experience with children ages 15-16 in camping or related youth work.
• Prior experience as a peer leader or supervisor.
• Physical ability to cover entire campgrounds and participate in all camp activities.
• Ability to positively work with staff from different backgrounds.
• Train and mentor staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead assigned sessions during staff training.
• Support all staff at camp and inspire them to be great leaders with campers.
• Schedule LIT/CIT activities and ensure campers design their daily schedule to the curriculum.
• Adhere to camp standards and policies; supervise activities and ensure safety.
• Record and report incidents and behavior concerns to the Program Coordinator in a timely manner.
