Job summary

Mayo Clinic Laboratories in Southaven, Mississippi, seeks a Laboratory Information Management (LIS) specialist to lead LIS support and coordinate with the LIS TS coordinator and management. You will operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory file builds, document changes with TIP, and serve as an expert resource for IM functions.

This limited-tenure role supports forming and launching a new company and laboratory, with a transition to a permanent infrastructure position as the organization

Responsibilities

• Provide direction for LIS support of the laboratory, including operation, maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Document and track changes to laboratory file build using the TIP system.
• Serve as expert resource for information management functions in the laboratory.
• Address IM functions for the work unit and develop and implement emerging IM solutions.
• Complete other projects or assignments as assigned.

Job description

*This position is located 100% on-site in Southaven, Mississippi*

Works with the laboratory information system technical specialist (LIS TS) coordinator and the management team to provide direction for the LIS support of the laboratory, including operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory file build. Accurately documents and tracks changes made to laboratory file build using the test implementation system process (TIP). Serves as an expert resource for other information management (IM) functions to the laboratory. Responsibilities also include addressing IM functions related to the work unit, as well as developing, and implementing emerging IM and electronic solutions and services, according to the DLMP Quality System Essentials. Completes other projects or assignments as assigned.

This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship/we will not sponsor or transfer a visa for this position. Also, Mayo Clinic DOES NOT participate in the F1 STEM OPT extension program.

This position is a limited-tenure role intended to support the formation, launch, and stabilization of a new company and laboratory. As the organization matures, the role is expected to transition to a permanent infrastructure position within a separate company operating independently from Mayo Clinic Laboratories.
