Job summary

The State of New Hampshire is advertising a full-time Liquor Investigator I for the Concord area. The role enforces liquor laws, conducts investigations, and engages with licensees and the public to ensure compliance.

A combination of education or police/military experience is required, with a NH driver’s license upon appointment. Minimum qualifications include an associate degree or 60 credit hours (criminal justice preferred) or a high school diploma with three years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree/60 credit hours in criminal justice or equivalent.
• High school diploma/GED with 3 years of relevant experience (police, corrections, or military).
• May substitute education/work experience per policy.
• Candidate must obtain NH driver’s license after appointment and maintain it.

Responsibilities

• Enforce liquor and beverage laws at licensed premises.
• Conduct administrative and complex criminal investigations with evidence gathering.
• Interview and deter suspects; liaise with public and officials.
• Inspect premises for compliance and license verifications; participate in enforcement operations.
• Prepare documentation and prosecute offenses in District Court.

Education
