Sierra Lobo is seeking a Liquid Rocket Research Engineer to join AFRL/RQR at Edwards AFB, CA. The role focuses on research, development, testing, and technology transition across missile, rocket, and space propulsion systems.

The engineer collaborates with multiple government agencies and industry partners, supports flight testing, reviews progress, and helps define test plans and procedures. Travel is required and security clearance may be needed.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering or a similar discipline is required.
• U.S. citizen and ability to obtain a US security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Support flight-testing activities on a high tempo development program.
• Oversee design, fabrication, and testing of flight test articles, test campaigns, reviews, and program planning.
• Develop test plans, schedules, and procedures; visit contractor and test facilities to ensure goals are met within budget and schedule.
• Collaborate with government project managers and other agencies, including NASA and Space Force.
