Job summary

Vader-Rey Companies in Wisconsin seeks an experienced Liquid Operations Manager to lead the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of a liquid storage terminal handling refined products, marine fuels, and crude oil. This hands-on leadership role directs daily terminal operations and develops the operations team.

Qualifications

  • Requires chemical engineering background and extensive leadership experience in liquid terminal or related operations.
  • Must have experience managing budgets, maintenance planning, and performance metrics.
  • WIC card required or ability to obtain one; valid U.S. driver’s license; able to pass background checks, physical, and drug screening.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily liquid terminal operations: receipt, storage, processing, and shipment.
  • Promote safety culture and ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, USCG, TCEQ regulations.
  • Supervise, coach, train, and develop operations personnel.
  • Manage staffing and labor costs within budget.
  • Coordinate with customers, logistics teams, and stakeholders to meet requirements.
  • Oversee preventive maintenance and ensure equipment readiness.
  • Manage operating and capital budgets, approve invoices, monitor expenses.
  • Track KPIs and report on production, inventory, safety, and costs.
  • Support security, emergency planning, and regulatory audits.
  • Develop and improve SOPs and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Troubleshoot issues to maintain safe, efficient terminal performance.

Job description

Our Client is seeking an experienced Liquid Operations Manager to lead the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of a liquid storage terminal handling refined products, marine fuels, and crude oil. This hands‑on leadership role oversees daily terminal operations, develops and manages operations personnel, drives safety and regulatory compliance, and ensures customers receive exceptional service

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead all day-to-day liquid terminal operations, including product receipt, storage, processing, and shipment
  • Promote a strong safety culture while ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, USCG, TCEQ, and other applicable regulations
  • Supervise, coach, train, develop, and evaluate operations personnel
  • Maintain staffing levels and manage labor costs within budget
  • Coordinate with customers, logistics teams, and internal stakeholders to meet operational requirements
  • Oversee preventive maintenance activities and ensure operational readiness of terminal equipment
  • Manage operating and capital budgets, approve invoices, and monitor expenses
  • Track operational KPIs and prepare reports covering production, inventory, safety, environmental compliance, and costs
  • Support terminal security requirements, emergency response planning, and regulatory audits
  • Develop and improve SOPs, operational processes, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Troubleshoot operational issues and support safe, efficient terminal performance
What We're Looking For
  • Proven leader with experience managing liquid terminal, tank farm, refinery, pipeline, or bulk storage operations
  • Strong knowledge of liquid handling systems, storage tanks, pipelines, truck loading, and marine operations
  • Excellent leadership, communication, coaching, and decision‑making skills
  • Commercial mindset with the ability to balance safety, customer service, and operational efficiency
  • Experience managing budgets, maintenance planning, and operational performance metrics
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, hands‑on environment
Qualifications
  • Chemical Engineering degree preferred
  • 12+ years of experience managing liquid terminal or related industrial operations
  • .+ years in an operations leadership role preferred
  • .WIC card required or ability to obtain one
  • Valid U.S. driver's license
  • Ability to pass a background check, physical, and drug screening
