Qualifications

• M.S. or Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry or related field; relevant experience considered.
• Strong hands-on experience in multi-step organic synthesis and reaction optimization.
• Purification of complex organic molecules using chromatography and preparative techniques.
• Experience interpreting HPLC, LC-MS/MS or MS, NMR, FT-IR data for process development.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute laboratory experiments for synthesis and process development of lipid-related materials.
• Develop and optimize synthetic routes with emphasis on yield, purity, scalability, and material availability.
• Develop purification strategies using chromatography, HPLC/flash chromatography, crystallization and extraction.
• Characterize materials with HPLC, MS, NMR, FT-IR and related methods.
• Support scale-up and transfer of processes to manufacturing in Rockford.
