Job summary

RED Global is seeking a LinuxONE Infrastructure & Platform SME for a long-term contract-to-hire. You will deploy and manage LinuxONE environments, integrate storage and networking, and support Oracle workloads in Linux, OpenShift, and cloud-ready platforms.

The role requires hands-on expertise with IBM Z/LinuxONE, KVM virtualization, OpenShift clusters, and automation through Ansible and CI/CD pipelines. Occasional travel and a remote-friendly setup are expected.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with IBM LinuxONE or Linux on IBM Z.
• Linux LPAR implementation and administration.
• KVM deployment and virtualization on IBM Z/LinuxONE.
• LinuxONE integration with enterprise storage and SAN infrastructure.
• Experience supporting Oracle workloads in Linux environments.
• Hands-on experience with a substantial majority of the listed platform, automation, monitoring, and middleware technologies.
• Ability to independently lead complex LinuxONE infrastructure and platform deployments.
• Availability for occasional travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and configure IBM LinuxONE servers with IBM FlashSystem FS9600 storage and SAN switch integration.
• Implement and administer bare-metal Red Hat Enterprise Linux LPARs.
• Deploy and manage KVM-based LPARs and virtualized Linux environments on LinuxONE hardware.
• Configure LinuxONE infrastructure to support enterprise Oracle workloads.
• Install, configure, and support IBM MQ and Apache Kafka platforms.
• Deploy and administer Red Hat OpenShift clusters.
• Implement HAProxy and Keepalived for load balancing and high availability.
• Configure monitoring and observability using Prometheus, Grafana, and Node Exporter.
• Implement and administer Red Hat Identity Management.
• Manage Jenkins build servers and supporting CI/CD infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks, automation processes, and control nodes.
• Administer source code repositories and access controls.
• Manage Yum repositories, Red Hat patching, and ongoing platform maintenance.
• Troubleshoot complex issues across LinuxONE infrastructure, virtualization, storage, operating systems, and platform services.
• Provide technical leadership, documentation, and knowledge transfer to internal teams.
