Qualifications

  • Extensive experience administering enterprise Linux environments, including SLES and RHEL.
  • Deep knowledge of low-latency systems engineering, including Linux kernel tuning and real-time concepts.
  • Strong TCP/IP networking, routing, firewalling, and data center networking experience.
  • Experience with enterprise server hardware (HP ProLiant) and storage (EMC, NetApp).
  • Proficient with Perl, Shell, and Ansible for automation.
  • Experience with VMware and cloud platforms (GCP) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide dedicated support for Change the Bank and Run the Bank activities across the Global Low Latency UNIX infrastructure.
  • Plan, deploy, activate, productionize, upgrade and maintain low-latency server hardware and OS across sites.
  • Perform latency-specific tuning and kernel enhancements to optimize performance.
  • Collaborate with application/project teams to align environments with the technology roadmap.
  • Lead technical decision-making during incidents and changes, and drive automation initiatives.

Job Description:J ob Title Linux/UNIX Systems AdministratorCorporate Title Vice PresidentLocation New York, NYOverviewThe Global Low Latency UNIX Support Team is seeking an experienced Linux Systems Administrator to support a global low-latency infrastructure spanning more than 2,300 servers across 30+ exchange colocation sites and core data centers. You will have deep expertise in Linux environments, including SLES and RHEL, along with strong knowledge of enterprise server hardware and infrastructure. This role is responsible for all stages of the hardware lifecycle, including planning, deployment, activation, product ionization, and vendor management. The position provides support to critical trading and market-facing platforms across multiple business lines, including Foreign Exchange, Market Data, Rates, Equities, Commodities, Derivatives, and Algorithmic Trading.
