Job summary

TEKsystems in Irvine, CA is seeking a Test Engineer (Linux / SystemsTesting) for an onsite contract role with extension potential. You will join a collaborative team performing software, hardware, and system integration testing across the full stack.

The role is ideal for early-career engineers who enjoy troubleshooting, validating system functionality, and hands-on technology work. Qualifications include a BS in a technical field and strong testing experience.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Experience with software, systems, or QA testing.
Linux or Unix experience.
Experience executing test cases and documenting results.
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Responsibilities

Execute software, hardware, and system integration tests.
Perform functional, regression, and validation testing.
Create, update, and execute test plans and test cases.
Document defects, test results, and troubleshooting findings.
Investigate software and hardware issues and support root cause analysis.
Work closely with engineering teams to resolve bugs and improve product quality.
Support test environments, system configurations, and validation activities.
