Job summary

InterServer is seeking a Linux Tech in Datacenter based in Secaucus, NJ. This full-time, on-site role focuses on managing Linux-based servers, monitoring performance, and ensuring high availability of data center services.

You will install/configure hardware, perform routine checks, diagnose issues, and assist with deployments and migrations while adhering to data center security and environmental controls.

Qualifications

• Strong familiarity with data center operations and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency with Linux OS installation, configuration and CLI.
• Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing and switching.
• Ability to work safely in a physical data center environment and lift equipment.
• Certs such as Linux+, LPIC or CompTIA Network+ are a plus.

Role Description

This full-time, on-site Linux Tech in Datacenter role is based in Secaucus, NJ. The Linux Tech will manage and maintain Linux-based servers, monitor system performance, and ensure high availability of data center services. Daily responsibilities include installing and configuring hardware, performing routine checks, diagnosing and resolving technical issues, and assisting with server deployments and migrations. The role also involves working with cabling infrastructure, documenting procedures, coordinating with support teams, and following data center best practices for security, safety, and environmental controls.

Qualifications

• Strong familiarity with data center operations, including Data Center Operations and Troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with cable infrastructure, including Cable Management, Cabling, and Structured Cabling.
• Proficiency with Linux operating systems, including installation, configuration, and command-line administration.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, and switching) and basic hardware diagnostics.
• Ability to work safely in a physical data center environment, including lifting equipment and following safety protocols.
• Effective communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work both independently and as part of a technical team.
• Prior experience in a data center or IT infrastructure environment is preferred; relevant certifications (e.g., Linux+, LPIC, CompTIA Network+) are a plus.
