Job summary

Unisys Corporation is seeking a Linux Systems Support role to provide ongoing systems administration across Linux environments, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of hardware, software, applications, and connectivity components for Linux environments across multiple locations.

This role handles remediation of daily incident tickets, system compliance, testing, staging, policy/procedure enhancement, client contact coordination, and operational recommendations to address

Qualifications

• Working expertise in Linux systems administration.
• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
• BA/BS degree and 2-4 years of relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Administers development, test and production servers, including reloading, re-imaging and debugging problems.
• Installs, removes, and upgrades software packages on test, development, and production servers.
• Performs daily monitoring of network systems, independently initiating proactive measures to ensure functionality, connectivity, and load balance.
• Troubleshoots systems and host environments, identifying and resolving faults, inconsistencies, and systemic issues.
• Evaluates, recommends, and implements solutions to ensure systems functionality and compliance with company standards.
• Provides network and systems evaluation and operational reports.
• Updates systems records and ensures maintenance of accurate information.
• Ensures computer programs in company use are properly licensed, adhere to company standards, and are operational and functional.
• Assists systems users by creating instructional how-to guides and by providing technical information and training.
