Job summary

Bowhead is seeking a Linux Systems Administrator (RDTE) to join our Dahlgren, VA team. You will handle system administration in an RDT&E environment, supporting multiple Linux servers and workstations.

Candidates must have 4–5 years' Linux experience, a DoD 8570/IAT II at hire, US citizenship, and be willing to travel 10–25% for deployments and testing. A high school diploma is required, with a Bachelor's preferred.

Qualifications

• 4–5 years of Linux system administration experience.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Must meet DoD 8570/IAT II or higher at hire.
• U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Provide troubleshooting and in-depth Linux system operations.
• Administer servers and clustered systems in unclassified networks.
• Develop and implement software modifications to improve performance.
• Participate in cross-functional planning meetings and deployments.
• Assist with hardware acquisitions and vendor communications.
• Support application installation, licenses management, and backups.
