Job summary

ISHIR is seeking a Linux Systems Administrator to manage enterprise Linux environments in our Killeen, TX data centers. You will handle administration, monitoring, security, and maintenance while collaborating with DevOps, security, and development teams.

Responsibilities include OpenShift/Kubernetes cluster management, Windows Server administration, and on-call rotation. The role requires strong troubleshooting and a proactive, security-conscious mindset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.
• Strong hands-on experience administering Linux servers (RHEL/Ubuntu/CentOS).
• Experience with Windows Server administration and core services.
• Familiarity with VMware vSphere/ESXi and container orchestration (OpenShift/Kubernetes).

Responsibilities

• Administer, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux systems (RHEL/Ubuntu/CentOS).
• Install, configure, secure, and optimize Linux services (systemd, SSH, Apache/Nginx, cron).
• Provide Tier 2/3 support for escalated server issues and fix complex infra problems.
• Manage OpenShift/Kubernetes clusters and containerized applications.
• Collaborate with IT security to apply patching and hardening practices.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and SOPs.
