Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking a Systems Administrator SME to advance mission-critical IT in a dynamic environment. The role emphasizes Linux/Windows CLI proficiency, system automation, and virtualization across platforms, with a strong focus on security and compliance.

You will support DoD-related infrastructure in a highly secure setting. US citizenship is required, with an Active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph clearance.

Qualifications

• Must have 10+ years of related experience.
• Knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems and CLI.
• Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g Bash, PowerShell).
• Experience with system automation tools (AD, Group Policy).
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP networking basics.
• Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, KVM, Docker; Hyper-V).
• Experience with monitoring/logging tools (Splunk, Zabbix, ELK).
• Understanding of security best practices and protocols.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED

Bring your technology expertise and drive for innovation to GDIT. The Systems Administrator SME must have:

• Education: Technical Training, Certification(s) or Degree
• Experience: 10+ years of related experience with a
• Technical skills: Knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems and command-line interface (CLI)
• Some familiarity in scripting languages (e.g Bash, PowerShell)
• Experience with system automation tools (e.g. Active Directory, Group Policy for Windows)
• Knowledge of network protocols and services (e.g. TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
• Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g. VMWare, KVM, Docker for Linux; Hyper V, VMWare for Windows)
• Some experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g. Splunk, Zabbix, ELK)
• Understanding of security best practices and protocols
