Walker Elliott is seeking an on-site Linux Systems Administrator to manage and secure its on-premises Linux servers and virtualized infrastructure in northwest Houston. The role focuses on Linux administration, virtualization, networking, and security, with Windows server support and handling escalated technical issues.

You will lead IT projects, improve system reliability, and implement infrastructure solutions.

Qualifications

• 4+ years hands-on Linux system administration on on-premises servers.

Our client is hiring an on-site Linux Systems Administrator to manage, secure, and maintain its on-premises Linux servers and virtualized infrastructure. The role focuses on Linux administration, virtualization, networking, and infrastructure security, and also includes Windows server support and handling escalated technical issues.

You will lead and contribute to IT projects, improve system reliability, and implement infrastructure solutions. The right candidate has strong technical skills, works independently, and can troubleshoot complex systems in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• 4+ years of Linux system administration and automation experience (must be hands-on with physical, on-premises servers)
• Experience with Python, Ansible, and shell scripting
• Experience with PostgreSQL databases and enterprise software environments
• Solid problem-solving skills

Role is in northwest Houston, it is a full time, direct hire role. On site 5 days per week.
