Overview

GovCIO is hiring a Windows and Linux System Administrator to support Veterans Affairsoperational needs. The role requires AWS, Windows, and Linux administration experience, with strong database management skills, tomaintaininfrastructure and ensure system security and performance.This position is fully remote within the United States.

Responsibilities

• Plan the transition of development and/or production environments tonew technologies.
• Ensure data integrity and facilitate electronic health record modernization.
• Establish andmaintainsmooth operation of computer systems, including operating systems, software, and hardware, in both networked and stand-alone configurations.
• Consult with support teams, help desks, customers, and other technical staffto resolve technical issues.
• Coordinate and perform operational and maintenance activities for networks/servers.
• Identifyrecurring problems and recommend solutions to minimize impact andfrequency.
• Ensure system integrity and perform upgrades to systems and/or servers asrequired.
• Plan the transition of development and/or production environments tonew technologies.
• Recommend changes to improve systems and network configurations anddeterminehardware or software requirements related to such changes.
  
  

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor's in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, and 8+ years ofcommensurateexperience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Windows and Linux system administration.
• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communicationand teamwork abilities.
  
  

Preferred Skills and Experience **:**

• RHEL 6, 7, and 8
• RAID
• Volume Shadow Copy Service
• AWS certification (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified).
• Experience withJenkins, Gitlab, SonarQube, Jira, Confluence,Ldap, openLdapTomcat 7, OpenShift, VMWare 6.5
• Knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)

Posted Pay Range

The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Posted Salary Range

USD $90,000.00 - USD $100,000.00 /Yr.
