Job summary

J&T Business Consulting in Annapolis, MD is seeking a Linux System Administrator to support the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems for a cleared environment requiring TS/SCI with polygraph.

The role includes Tier 1 and Tier 2 incident handling, day-to-day configuration and operation of client/server/storage/network devices, and coordination with agency management and internal customers.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution.
• Manage the daily activities of configuration and operation of IT systems.
• Provide assistance to users in accessing and using IT systems.
• Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution of problems.
• Provide support to IT systems, including day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for all client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.
• Provide support for escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers.
• Optimize system operations and resource utilization, and perform system capacity analysis and planning.

Required Skills

• Five (5) years of experience as an SA in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
• Five (5) years of additional SA experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
• System Administration experience with CentOS 7, Rocky 9, and RHEL 9
• o Upgrading servers, workstations, and laptops
• Experience with the Customer Secure the Enterprise (STE) tasks
• Experience with the Customer data transfer process
• Hardware installation experience (servers/workstations)
• Active TS/SCI security clearance with a current polygraph is required
