Job summary

GIGATEC Engineering in Maryland is seeking a System Administrator to support the Agency’s HPC infrastructure, providing network management and systems administration to keep the environment secure and high-performing.

This role requires Top Secret clearance, Security+ certification, and hands-on experience with Linux clusters, automation tools, and state-of-the-art monitoring.

Qualifications

• Top Secret clearance with a favorable polygraph.
• Authorized to work in the United States; U.S. work authorization only; visa sponsorship not offered.
• Security+ certification is required.
• 15+ years of experience or a Bachelor's in a technical discipline plus 5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with large-scale Linux cluster environments and COTS/GOTS/FOSS software.

Responsibilities

• Manage network and systems for HPC infrastructure and development environment.
• Maintain SYS1 access and enforce security requirements.
• Automate deployment and patching with IaC tools such as Ansible/SaltStack.
• Troubleshoot issues, interface with customers, and document resolutions.

What You’ll Be Doing (We don't love the bullet points, but we love the work!)

As the System Administrator, you'll get to be responsible for providing network management and systems administration support to maintain the Agency’s High-Performance Computing (HPC) infrastructure and HPC development environment. The Systems Administrator shall require SYS1 access and must have the Security+ certification.

• Bachelors in Technical discipline,or an additional 5 years' experience

Required Skills

• Experience using the Linux CLI and Linux Tools
• Experience developing scripts using Bash/Python
• Experience performing System Administration including installation, configuration, and support of COTS/GOTS/FOSS software in a large-scale Linux cluster environment
• Experience with Network Appliance clustered servers and applicable software with direct attached FC San storage
• Experience using Red Hat Satellite to automate the deployment, provisioning, and patching of REL Linux systems across physical, virtual, and cloud environments
• Experience with hands-on troubleshooting, customer interfacing, issue resolution, discrepancy tracking, and report generation
• Familiar with software frameworks used for searching, monitoring, and analyzing big data such as Splunk and Elastic Stack
• Experience with Linux configuration regarding Storage, Networking, Load Balancing, Memory Management, VMs, Firewalls, and System Monitoring
• Experience with corporate STE/STN security compliance policies, procedures, and tools
• Experience with corporate SSP accreditation processes
• Experience with IaC (Infrastructure as Code) principles and automation tools such as Ansible and SaltStack
• Experience configuring and sustaining VMware ESXi/Virtualization environments

Desired Skills

• Experience with the Atlassian Suite of Tools such as Jira and Confluence
• Experience using system monitoring tools such as HPE One View and Nagios
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker
• Experience with sanitization of hardware, firmware, and / or software removed from computing environment in accordance with USG policies and procedures
