Job summary

CTC Group seeks a Linux Systems Administrator to maintain and secure Linux-based systems within a classified environment at Annapolis Junction / Ft. Meade.

You will support Cisco and Palo Alto networks, automate tasks with Ansible, Bash, and Python, and handle vulnerability remediation and IAVA patching. The role involves configuring networking gear, managing virtualized environments, and sustaining documentation and security compliance.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with polygraph required.
• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or five years SA experience may substitute for degree.
• Five years of SA experience required for Level 1.
• Ten years of SA experience required for Level 2.
• Fifteen years of SA experience required for Level 3.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, configure, monitor, and troubleshoot Linux-based systems in a classified environment.
• Configure and support Cisco and Palo Alto networking equipment and troubleshoot connectivity.
• Manage virtualized environments; support IPsec and VPN tunneling.
• Develop automation solutions using Ansible, including playbooks.
• Create and maintain Bash and Python scripts for automation and monitoring.
• Support security activities such as Nessus scanning, IAVA patching, and system hardening.
• Install and maintain physical infrastructure, including rack-and-stack for servers and networking gear.
• Document system, network, configuration, and operational procedures.
• Support Docker and Kubernetes containerized environments.
• Diagnose and resolve complex Linux, networking, virtualization, hardware, and software issues.

Summary

CTC Group has a new and exciting opportunity for Linux Systems Administrators to maintain and secure Linux-based systems, support Cisco and Palo Alto network infrastructure, automate system administration tasks using Ansible, Bash, and Python, and perform vulnerability remediation and IAVA patching within a classified environment.

Location: Annapolis Junction / Ft. Meade

Responsibilities

• Maintain, configure, monitor, and troubleshoot Linux-based systems supporting mission-critical operations within a classified government environment.
• Configure and support Cisco and Palo Alto networking equipment, including troubleshooting network connectivity and performance issues.
• Manage virtualized environments and support IPsec, VPN tunneling, and other secure network communications.
• Develop, implement, and maintain automation solutions using Ansible, including writing and deploying playbooks.
• Create and maintain Bash and Python scripts to automate system administration, configuration, monitoring, and maintenance activities.
• Support Secure the Enterprise and Secure the Network activities, including Nessus scanning and other high-side security tools.
• Perform IAVA patching, vulnerability remediation, system hardening, and security compliance activities.
• Install, cable, document, and maintain physical infrastructure, including rack-and-stack activities for servers and networking equipment.
• Create and maintain accurate system, network, configuration, and operational documentation.
• Support containerized environments using technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Diagnose and resolve complex Linux, networking, virtualization, hardware, and software issues to maintain reliable mission operations.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI with polygraph security clearance
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Five (5) years of additional SA experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.

Level 1 Qualifications

• Five (5) years experience as a SA in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
• CWIP IAT Level I
• Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MSCA) or Redhat Certified System Administrator(RHCSA) certified.
• One of the following certifications: A+, Network+, or System Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)

Level 2 Qualifications

• Ten (10) years experience as a SA in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
• CWIP IAT Level II
• 3+ years of experience performing duties at or equivalent to an IAT level position under the CWIP (DoD 8570/8140framework).
• Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MSCA) or Redhat Certified Engineer(RHCE) certified.
• One of the following certifications: A+, Network+, or System Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP).

Level 3 Qualifications

• Fifteen (15) years experience as a SA in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
• CWIP IAT Level III
• 7+ years of experience performing duties at or equivalent to an IAT level position under the CWIP (DoD 8570/8140framework).
• Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MSCA) or Redhat Certified Architect(RHCA) certified.
• One of the following certifications: A+, Network+, or System Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP).

Pay Information

The final salary may be influenced by various factors, such as location, labor categories, experience, education, and/or certifications. CTC also provides a variety of benefits as well as opportunities for continuous education and development.

The estimated salary range for this position is $150,000 - $190,000.
