Job summary

Burlington Stores seeks a Manager, Linux Platform to lead the enterprise Linux platforms across corporate and distribution center environments. You will manage a team of System Engineers and Administrators, drive automation, ensure security and high availability, and partner with procurement and finance on budgets.

The role requires 7+ years of Linux/DevOps experience and strong cloud, virtualization, and automation skills in a retail environment.

Qualifications

7+ years of hands-on Linux, DevOps or Platform Engineering in enterprise environments.
3+ years of experience managing a team of systems, DevOps or platform engineers.
Experience operating in public cloud environments like Azure, AWS or GCP.
Strong understanding of vSphere or similar virtualization technologies, compute, hardware and server management.
Experience with configuration management and automation tools (Ansible, Terraform, Puppet).
Proven experience with monitoring/observability solutions (Datadog, Dynatrace, Nagios or SolarWinds).

Responsibilities

Lead and develop a team of 5-9 System Engineers and Administrators.
Foster a culture of technical excellence and collaboration.
Manage workload distribution, on-call schedules, and succession planning.
Oversee deployment, patching, upgrades, and tuning of Linux servers (RHEL/SUSE).
Drive automation using Ansible, Terraform, Bash, and CI/CD tooling.
Act as primary escalation point for production incidents and RCAs.
Ensure high availability, DR testing, and 24/7 support readiness.
