Job summary

ByteDance in San Jose is seeking an experienced Linux kernel engineer to migrate device drivers and OS components to ByteDance kernel. You will participate in code reviews, design and develop OS build and deployment systems, and serve as the primary escalation point for OS issues, coordinating with internal teams to resolve problems swiftly.

Ideal candidates have a CS/CE/EE degree and proven Linux kernel experience, with proficiency in C/C++, Go, Python, or Java.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in CS/CE/EE or related majors.
• Experience in Linux OS development or similar fields.
• Familiar with Computer Architecture and server development lifecycle.
• Familiar with Linux/Unix OS architecture, Linux Kernel mechanisms, Linux Kernel programming, systemd, glibc.
• Proficient in C/C++, Go, Python, or Java.

Responsibilities

• Migrate device drivers and OS components to ByteDance kernel and Linux OS distribution.
• Participate in regular code reviews for Linux Kernel and OS components.
• Contribute to design and development of OS/test/build/deploy/maintenance systems.
• Serve as escalation point for end users coordinating across teams to resolve issues quickly.
