Silgan Closures in Champaign, IL is seeking a Lining Technician to operate, inspect and maintain high‑speed lining equipment, ensuring safe, high‑quality closures for food and beverage brands.

This hands‑on role requires a mechanical mindset, the ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment, and a strong commitment to safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of manufacturing experience.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Ability to work individually in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities

• Reset and calibrate vision systems at start of each shift.
• Verify all materials align with the daily production schedule.
• Use precision tools to take and record closure measurements.
• Perform visual quality inspections on closures.
• Monitor control panels and detect equipment jams or malfunctions.
• Make mechanical adjustments and repairs to equipment.
• Make basic mechanical adjustments and minor repairs as needed.
• Document production performance and communicate with the next shift.
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe environment.

In this hands-on manufacturing role, you'll operate, inspect, and maintain high-speed lining equipment to ensure the production of safe, high-quality closures used by popular food and beverage brands.

What We Offer:

• Pay range $23.31 - $25.91 per hour
• Schedule: 2-2-3 with every other weekend off - Friday - Sunday
• Hours: 12-hour night, 5:45 am - 6:00 pm
• Weekly pay with opportunities for overtime
