Job summary

Silgan Specialty Packaging LLC in West Virginia is seeking a production associate to support box making and ensure production materials are available. The role involves color and resin changes, grinder cleaning, waste disposal, and training on forklift operation while maintaining a clean, safe work area.

Responsibilities include inspecting materials for quality, labeling, packing, and preparing boxes for shipment. Adherence to safety rules is required in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

• Has a fundamental responsibility to ensure product safety and quality as it applies to all the duties listed below
• Make boxes and ensure production has all material needed
• Perform machine clean outs including color changes and resin changes
• Assist in cleaning out plugged grinders
• Remove production waste and place in the appropriate marked containers
• Break employees in the department
• Evaluate materials to ensure high quality and conformance with established standards. Report any food safety and quality problems or concerns.
• Maintain ink in printers and labels in labelers
• Un-jam assemblers as needed
• Tape boxes shut, label the boxes, and stack for shipment
• Maintain a clean and safe working area
• Perform sweeping, cleaning, sorting duties as necessary
• Will be fork truck certified
• Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and procedures.
