Job summary

Silgan Closures in Champaign, IL is seeking a Lining Technician to operate, inspect, and maintain high-speed lining equipment to ensure safe, high-quality closures for food and beverage brands.

You will reset and calibrate vision systems, verify materials align with production, take closure measurements, perform quality inspections, and help keep a clean, safe manufacturing environment. This role includes stable pay, weekly pay, and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing role.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Ability to work individually in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities

• Reset and calibrate vision systems at start of each shift.
• Verify materials align with the daily production schedule.
• Use precision tools to take and record closure measurements.
• Perform visual quality inspections on closures.
• Monitor control panels and detect equipment jams or malfunctions.
• Make mechanical adjustments and repairs to equipment.

Join Silgan Closures, a global employer in sustainable packaging solutions, as a Lining Technician at our Champaign, IL manufacturing facility. In this hands-on manufacturing role, you'll operate, inspect, and maintain high-speed lining equipment to ensure the production of safe, high-quality closures used by popular food and beverage brands.

What We Offer:

• Pay range $23.31 - $25.91 per hour
• Schedule: 2-2-3 with every other weekend off - Friday - Sunday
• Hours: 12-hour night, 5:45 am - 6:00 pm
• Weekly pay with opportunities for overtime
