Job summary

PRI Global is seeking a Linguist III to support FAIR in linguistic research and multilingual AI analysis. The role centers on rigorous linguistic analysis and collaboration with ML/NLP teams to advance research outcomes.

The candidate will analyze data, identify errors and bias, and contribute to typological and sociolinguistic studies, while developing guidelines and working with diverse stakeholders on improvements and publications.

Qualifications

• 0–3 years of relevant professional/research experience.
• Completed PhD in Linguistics required; theoretical Linguistics preferred.
• Python, SQL, and basic NLP required.
• Strong knowledge of syntax, morphology, phonology, sociolinguistics, typology, pragmatics, and corpus linguistics.
• Experience working with large datasets and cross-functional ML/NLP/Engineering/Data Science teams.

Responsibilities

• Analyze linguistic data and AI model outputs.
• Identify linguistic errors, bias, toxicity, and other language-related issues.
• Conduct typological, sociolinguistic, and NLP-related research.
• Develop and review annotation and language evaluation guidelines.
• Analyze vendor quality and provide actionable feedback.
