About the Role
Our client, a cutting-edge technology firm at the forefront of artificial intelligence, is looking for a brilliant Senior AI Research Scientist specializing in Natural Language Processing (NLP) to join their team in Washington, D.C., US. This role demands a passion for pushing the boundaries of AI, with a focus on developing sophisticated NLP models and algorithms. Responsibilities
- Conduct advanced research in Natural Language Processing, including but not limited to: sentiment analysis, topic modeling, machine translation, text generation, and question answering.
- Design, develop, and implement novel NLP algorithms and machine learning models.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate research prototypes into production systems.
- Stay current with the latest advancements in AI, machine learning, and NLP through academic publications and industry conferences.
- Publish research findings in top-tier academic journals and present at international conferences.
- Develop and mentor junior researchers and engineers in NLP and machine learning techniques.
- Design and execute experiments to evaluate the performance and effectiveness of NLP models.
- Contribute to the intellectual property portfolio through patent applications.
- Analyze large datasets to extract insights and inform model development.
- Foster a culture of scientific rigor and innovation within the research group.
Qualifications
- Ph.D. or Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Linguistics, or a related quantitative field.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on research experience in NLP and machine learning.
- Strong publication record in top-tier NLP/ML conferences (e.g., ACL, EMNLP, NeurIPS, ICML).
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and experience with deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Expertise in various NLP techniques and libraries (e.g., spaCy, NLTK, Hugging Face Transformers).
- Experience with large language models (LLMs) and their applications.
- Solid understanding of statistical methods and experimental design.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative research environment.
- Proven ability to translate research ideas into practical applications.
