Job summary

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is seeking a dedicated Linen/Laundry Associate to receive, count, and distribute clean linen across the hospital in support of patient care and safety. The role requires adherence to regulatory standards and strong organizational skills.

The position involves operating hand-held inventory devices, moving heavy loads, and delivering linen on a strict timetable across units, with 8-hour shifts and a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in a fast-paced environment.
• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in housekeeping or linen services within a healthcare setting.
• No education required

Responsibilities

• Perform physical inventory of linen using hand-held device.
• Record data (item counts) in hand-held device so it may be entered into inventory system.
• Neatly placing clean linen on carts/shelves.
• Interacts with customers to ensure linen is delivered in appropriate time frame and is accurate.
• Responds to units requesting additional linen when supply on their cart is depleted.
• Daily delivery and pick-up of clean exchange and bulk linen carts to each unit requiring a cart in the facility.
• Counts remaining linen in exchange carts being returned to the clean linen room after retrieval from units.
• Deliveries/pick-ups must be completed according to established timetables/8-hour shifts.
• Maintain cleanliness of clean linen storeroom.
• Consolidate partially full carts, remove empty carts to hall.
• Coordinate with staff and drivers for proper staging of carts.
• Ensure appropriate carts are returned to laundry and delivered to the facility.
• Adhere to all regulatory, safety and compliance standards.

Job Description

Receives, counts, and distributes clean linen throughout the hospital as needed in support of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta’s mission, vision, and values. Performs all assigned duties in an effective, efficient manner and in compliance with all appropriate regulatory agencies, Children’s compliance and safety standards. Proactively supports efforts that ensure delivery of safe patient care and services and promote a safe environment at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.
