Job summary

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is seeking a Linen/Laundry Associate in Atlanta, GA. You will receive, count, and distribute clean linen across hospital units, supporting safe patient care and a clean, organized environment.

The role requires ability to work evenings, with shifts starting at 2:30 PM and ending at 11:00 PM, on a schedule including Monday, Saturday, Sunday, Thursday, and Wednesday. At least 1 year in a fast-paced setting is needed.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in a fast-paced environment
• No education required
• Experience with housekeeping or linen services within healthcare is preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform physical inventory of linen using a hand-held device
• Record data (item counts) in the hand-held device
• Neatly place clean linen on carts and shelves
• Interact with customers to ensure linen is delivered timely and accurately
• Deliver and pick up clean exchange and bulk linen carts to units as required
• Count remaining linen in exchange carts being returned to the clean linen room
• Ensure deliveries/pick-ups follow established timetables and 8-hour shifts
• Maintain cleanliness of the clean linen storeroom
• Coordinate staging of carts with staff and drivers
• Ensure appropriate carts are returned to laundry and delivered to the facility
• Adhere to regulatory, safety, and compliance standards

Job Description

Receives, counts, and distributes clean linen throughout the hospital as needed in support of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta’s mission, vision, and values. Performs all assigned duties in an effective, efficient manner and in compliance with all appropriate regulatory agencies, Children’s compliance and safety standards. Proactively supports efforts that ensure delivery of safe patient care and services and promote a safe environment at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.

Experience

• Experience in housekeeping or linen services within a healthcare setting

Job Responsibilities

• Perform physical inventory of linen using hand-held device.
• Recording data (item counts) in hand-held device so it may be entered into inventory system.
• Neatly placing clean linen on carts/shelves.
• Interacts with customers to ensure linen is delivered in appropriate time frame and is accurate.
• Responsible for responding to units requesting additional linen when the supply on their cart has been depleted.
• Responsible for daily delivery and pick-up of clean exchange and bulk linen carts to each unit requiring a cart in the facility.
• Accurately counts all remaining linen in exchange carts that are being returned to the clean linen room after retrieval from units.
• Deliveries/pick-ups must be completed according to established timetables/8-hour shifts.
• Maintain cleanliness of clean linen storeroom.
• Consolidate partially full carts, remove all empty carts and place in hall.
• Coordinates with staff and drivers the proper staging of carts being delivered.
• Ensuring appropriate carts are returned to laundry as well as delivered to the facility.
• Adhere to all regulatory, safety and compliance standards.
