Job summary

Holiday Inn in Metairie, LA is seeking a Laundry Attendant to maintain cleanliness of laundry operations, sorting, washing, drying and storing linens according to brand standards.

Responsibilities include operating washers/dryers, inspecting items, coordinating with room attendants, and adhering to safety and energy guidelines. Flexibility with shifts and a proactive work attitude are essential.

Responsibilities

• Operates washers and dryers in accordance with manufacturer’s guidelines.
• Wash, and fold clean linens, towels and sheets and stores in appropriate areas.
• Inspect items for wear and tear.
• Collect laundry from carts/chute, separating items for laundering.
• Moves laundry to washing area, clean laundry to drying area, dry laundry to folding area and folded laundry to proper storage according to brand and corporate procedures.
• Use and maintain proper laundry recovery program.
• Maintains adequate inventory of supplies.
• Ensures compliance with energy conservation and job safety requirements.
• Proactively maintain assigned areas and equipment.
• Ensure efficient completion of daily assignments in a timely manner.
• Use supplies efficiently.
• Communicate with room attendants on room status.
• Reports items needed for purchase to supervisor.
• Report all safety concerns to management.
• Attend and participate in all mandatory trainings.
• Flexible with schedule and assignments.
• Maintain effective performance under pressure.
