Job summary

Ameren Missouri is seeking a Lineman to construct, maintain and repair electric transmission, subtransmission, distribution, and service systems. You will work under supervision across energized and de-energized work at all voltage levels in diverse environments, supporting restoration, troubleshooting and routine system maintenance.

The role requires completion of the ALBAT program or equivalent, a high school diploma, and a Class A CDL, with licensing and safety requirements to be met.

Qualifications

• ALBAT program or equivalent apprenticeship completed.
• High School diploma or equivalent obtained.
• Possess Class A Commercial Driver's License.
• Must pass State/Federal licensing requirements, medical evaluations and drug screening.
• Covered under the IBEW Local 702 bargaining agreement.

Responsibilities

• Patrol, troubleshoot, repair, and restore service on overhead and underground electric systems.
• Respond to residential, commercial, and industrial trouble calls; restore power.
• Erect poles, install anchors, guy systems, and structural framing.
• String, sag, and secure overhead conductors of all gauges.
• Install rigging equipment including gin poles, blocks, and booms.
• Install, connect, maintain, and remove transformers, regulators, capacitors, and related equipment.
• Perform work on energized lines at all voltages following safework procedures.
• Install, remove, and maintain meters, enclosures, and related equipment.
• Trim trees and clear vegetation that impacts facilities.
• Install pole hardware, brackets, terminal equipment, and meter enclosures.
• Erect and maintain towers; paint steel structures as required.
• Perform switching operations per Ameren procedures; manage outages.
• Disconnect and reconnect customer electric services.
• Install and maintain streetlights; test circuits and clear faults.
• Replace fuses at line, transformer, or substation levels.
• Inspect substation conditions; assist with emergency and routine switching.
• Verify relay/breaker operations; reset protective devices.
• Establish and verify phase rotation; respond to storm events.
• Ensure safety, professionalism, and effective communication with customers and coworkers.
