Job summary

City of Lubbock's electric utility is seeking a Lineman Journey to construct, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair both overhead and underground distribution and transmission systems. You will work with teams to keep critical infrastructure safe and reliable.

This role requires completing a four-year lineman apprenticeship, CDL, First Aid/CPR, and pole-top rescue certification. You will perform energized and de-energized work, lead safety briefings, and respond to outages and storm restoration as

Qualifications

Completion of a four-year accredited electric utility lineman apprenticeship is required.
Valid CDL appropriate for assigned vehicles and duties is required.
Current First Aid/CPR certification or higher is required.
Annual pole-top rescue evaluation must be completed within four minutes.

Responsibilities

Construct, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair overhead and underground distribution and transmission systems.
Perform energized and de-energized work following safety practices and procedures.
Diagnose outages and restore service to maintain system reliability.
Lead safety briefings and coach apprentices in field operations.
Respond to outages and storm restoration as needed.
