Job summary

Dycom is seeking a Lineman I Telecom in Phoenix, AZ to install and repair aerial telecommunications cables and help connect America. You will work with hand and power tools, climb structures, and operate bucket trucks and other equipment to keep networks running smoothly.

The role requires 18+, U.S. work authorization, a high school diploma or equivalent, and a valid driver's license. Training and potential overtime, nights or weekends may be needed.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Authorization to work in the United States.
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
• Valid state driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Pass background check and company drug screening.
• Must be able to attend and pass all required training.
• Overtime, after hours, weekends or on-call may be required to complete work.
• Nights and holidays may be required.

Responsibilities

• Install and repair aerial telecommunications cable.
• Safely use hand tools and equipment such as wrenches, drills, ladders, and climbing hooks.
• Safely operate mechanized equipment such as bucket trucks and digger derricks.
• Set up safety perimeter using signage, cones and barriers.
• Flag traffic when required.
• Understand separation and clearance regulations.
• Work aloft using climbing hooks and ladders.
• Maintain safe working habits and procedures.

What you’ll do

• You will install and repair aerial telecommunications cable
• You will safely use hand tools and equipment such as; wrenches, drills, ladders, lanyards, saws, lashers, climbing hooks, and more
• You will safely operate mechanized equipment such as; bucket trucks, digger derricks, excavators, and more
• You will set up safety perimeter using signage, cones, safety barriers
• You will flag traffic when required
• You will understand separation and clearance regulations
• You will safely work aloft using climbing hooks and ladders
• You will maintain safe working habits/conditions according to all regulations, procedures and policies.

What you’ll need

• To be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
• Valid state driver's license (cannot be Provisional), including an acceptable driving record
• Must be able to pass a background check and company drug screening.
• Must be able to attend and pass all company required training as needed.
• May be required to work over-time; after hours; on weekends, for emergencies or be on-call as work is needed to ensure work is completed.
• May include working nights and holidays as needed.
