Job description

We’re looking for a Lineman I Telecom to join our team and help connect America.

Responsibilities

• Install and repair aerial telecommunications cable.
• Safely use hand tools and equipment such as wrenches, drills, ladders, lanyards, saws, lashers, climbing hooks, and more.
• Safely operate mechanized equipment such as bucket trucks, digger derricks, and excavators.
• Set up safety perimeter using signage, cones, and safety barriers.
• Flag traffic when required.
• Understand separation and clearance regulations.
• Work aloft using climbing hooks and ladders.
• Maintain safe working habits and conditions according to all regulations, procedures, and policies.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older.
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company.
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience.
• Valid state driver's license (non‑provisional) with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability and willingness to pass a background check and company drug screening.
• Ability to attend and pass all company‑required training.
• Ready to work overtime, after hours, weekends, emergencies, or on‑call as needed.
• Willingness to work nights, holidays, and travel within the state or overnight as required.
• Regular and timely attendance is essential.

Additional Qualifications

• Previous construction experience, preferably in telecommunications.
• Knowledge of aerial cable installation procedures and techniques.
• Ability to climb telephone poles and work in a bucket truck, aloft, and on poles up to 40 feet.
• Experience with pole transfers, maintenance builds, new builds, cable installation, over-lash, and strand construction.
• Can lift/carry 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs as needed with or without assistance.
• Knowledge of the cable pair color‑code system or willingness to learn.
• Ability to work in confined spaces.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work with internal and external customers.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills to effectively communicate with product vendors and customers.

Physical & Safety Requirements

• Moderate noise level in the work environment.
• Regular exposure to outside weather conditions including extreme heat and cold, rain, snow, sleet, dust, and adverse driving conditions such as wet, icy, or foggy roads.
• Exposure to dust, fumes, airborne pathogens, toxic or corrosive chemicals, and moving machinery parts.
• Vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus near and/or far as needed.

Pay Range

The Lineman I Telecom hourly wage range is $25.00 - $30.00 depending on experience.
