What you'll do as a lineman

• Install and repair aerial telecommunications cable
• Safely use hand tools and equipment such as wrenches, drills, ladders, lanyards, saws, lashers, climbing hooks, and more
• Operate mechanized equipment such as bucket trucks, digger derricks, excavators, and more
• Direct traffic flow in accordance with local DOT guidelines
• Work aloft using climbing hooks and ladders
• Work in multiple locations and travel as required
• Maintain safe working habits and conditions according to all regulations, procedures, and policies

What you'll need

• Be 18 years of age or older
• Authorized to work in the United States for this company
• Valid driver's license with a minimum of 2 years driving experience
• Previous construction experience, preferably in telecommunications as a Telephony Lineman with 3-5 years of experience
• Knowledge of aerial cable installation procedures and techniques
• Ability to climb telephone poles, work in a bucket truck, aloft, and climb poles up to 40 feet
• Perform duties such as pole transfers, maintenance builds, new builds, cable installation, lashings, and strand construction
• Set up and maintain safe work areas
• Work in all weather conditions
