Job summary

Pauley Construction, LLC is seeking a Lineman I Telecom in Phoenix, AZ to install and repair aerial telecommunications cable and support infrastructure projects. You will use bucket trucks and ladders, set up work zones, and adhere to safety standards while supporting regional utility infrastructure in the West U.S.

Eligible candidates should be 18+, have authorized work status in the U.S., a high school diploma or GED, and be willing to undergo training, background checks, and occasional travel

Qualifications

• 18 years or older
• Authorized to work in the United States
• High School Diploma or GED or relevant experience
• Valid driver's license with clean record
• Pass background check and drug screening
• Willing to train and attend company-required training
• May work overtime, nights, weekends or travel as needed

Responsibilities

• Install and repair aerial telecommunications cable
• Safely use hand tools and equipment (wrenches, drills, ladders, lanyards, saws)
• Operate mechanized equipment (bucket trucks, digger derricks, excavators)
• Set up safety perimeter with signage, cones, barriers
• Flag traffic when required
• Understand separation and clearance regulations
• Work aloft using climbing hooks and ladders
• Maintain safety habits according to regulations and policies

What You’ll Do

• You will install and repair aerial telecommunications cable
• You will safely use hand tools and equipment such as; wrenches, drills, ladders, lanyards, saws, lashers, climbing hooks, and more
• You will safely operate mechanized equipment such as; bucket trucks, digger derricks, excavators, and more
• You will set up safety perimeter using signage, cones, safety barriers
• You will flag traffic when required
• You will understand separation and clearance regulations
• You will safely work aloft using climbing hooks and ladders
• You will maintain safe working habits/conditions according to all regulations, procedures and policies.

What You’ll Need

• To be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
• Valid state driver's license (cannot be Provisional), including an acceptable driving record
• Must be able to pass a background check and company drug screening.
• Must be able to attend and pass all company required training as needed.
• May be required to work over-time; after hours; on weekends, for emergencies or be on-call as work is needed to ensure work is completed.
• May include working nights and holidays as needed.
• May be required to travel in state or overnight as necessary to meet business and job requirements.
• Regular and timely attendance is an essential function of this position.

Additional Qualifications

• Previous construction experience, preferably in the telecommunications industry
• Knowledge of established aerial cable installation procedures and techniques
• You are able to climb telephone poles and work in a bucket truck and work aloft and climb poles up to 40 feet
• You are able to perform all duties in telecommunications construction (such as; pole transfers, maintenance builds, new build, cable installation, over lash, and strand construction)
• You are able to lift/carry 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs as needed with or without assistance.
• Must know the color code system for cable pairs or be willing to lear
• Ability to work in confined spaces
• Possesses strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Ability to work with internal and external customers
• Must have strong interpersonal communication skills to effectively communicate with product vendors and customers.

Physical & Safety Requirements And The Working Environment

• The noise level in the work environment for this position is moderate.
• Employees performing functions of this position are regularly exposed to outside weather conditions which can include but is not limited to: extreme heat and cold temperatures; inclement weather such as rain, snow, sleet and dust as well as adverse driving conditions including wet roads, icy roads, and fog.
• Employees in this job classification may be exposed to dust, fumes or other airborne pathogens.
• Employees may be exposed to toxic or corrosive chemicals as well as moving machinery parts and pieces.
• Specific vision abilities required to perform this job include but are not limited to: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus potentially near and/or far as needed

Pay Range: The Lineman II Telecom hourly wage range is $30.00 - $35.00 depending on experience.
