Qualifications

• Previous construction experience, preferably in telecommunications.
• Valid driver’s license with at least 2 years of driving experience.

Responsibilities

• Install and repair aerial telecommunications cables.
• Direct traffic flow following local DOT guidelines.
• Work aloft using climbing hooks and ladders.

What you’ll do as a Lineman I Telecom

• Install and repair aerial telecommunications cables
• Safely use hand tools and equipment such as wrenches, drills, ladders, lanyards, saws, lashers, climbing hooks, etc.
• Operate mechanized equipment like bucket trucks, digger derricks, excavators
• Direct traffic flow following local DOT guidelines
• Work aloft using climbing hooks and ladders
• Work at multiple locations and travel as needed
• Maintain safe working conditions according to all regulations and policies

What you’ll need

• Be 18 years or older
• Authorization to work in the U.S.
• Valid driver’s license with at least 2 years of driving experience
• Previous construction experience, preferably in telecommunications
• Knowledge of aerial cable installation procedures
• Ability to climb poles and work in bucket trucks up to 40 feet
• Ability to perform pole transfers, maintenance, new builds, cable installation, lashings, and strand construction
• Ability to set up and maintain safe work areas
• Ability to work in all weather conditions

Additional qualifications: Class A CDL license (if applicable)

Physical abilities & exposures

• Routinely lift/carry 50 lbs, up to 100 lbs with assistance
• Occasionally stoop, bend, climb, and work outdoors
