Job summary

The City of Trinidad Power & Light Department is seeking an experienced lineman to install, maintain, test, operate and repair electrical distribution and generating systems, including 120 V DC and up to 13,800 V AC. The role requires climbing poles, safely operating tools, and readiness for overtime or on-call duties.

Candidates should have 2–3 years of related experience, basic electrical knowledge, and lineman school certification if possible.

Qualifications

• Two to three years related experience and/or training.
• Basic electrical knowledge required.
• Certification from lineman school preferred.
• Experience in electrical distribution as a Lineman is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform installation, maintenance, testing, operation and repair of electrical distribution and generating systems.
• Operate equipment, machinery, and hand tools in Power and Light Department.
• Carry out first echelon maintenance and fulfill duties of the Line Supervisor.
• Climb wood poles and work around live electrical equipment in various weather.
• Attend technical training classes as directed.
• Work overtime, weekends, or holidays as emergencies require.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
