Job summary

Nueces Electric Cooperative (NEC) is hiring a Ground Worker/Apprentice Trainee through Apprentice 4 to support our Operations team. Work outdoors with line crews, gain field experience, and advance through a 4-year Apprentice Lineman Program under the supervision of Journey Line Workers.

Qualified candidates will have a High School Diploma or equivalent, Class A CDL, and lineman certifications; previous outdoor line work is preferred. NEC offers comprehensive benefits and a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

• Education includes high school diploma or equivalent; lineman college cert preferred.
• Licenses include Class A CDL and lineman certifications.
• Experience with outdoor line work and extreme weather conditions preferred.
• Technical skills in electrical circuitry, lines and equipment.
• Proficiency in Word/Outlook and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Support lineman with construction and maintenance tasks.
• Assist Journey Line Workers by loading poles/transformers and prepping gear.
• Stock materials, fuel, organize and clean vehicles.
• Complete required forms and paperwork, adhere to safety policies.
