Job summary

Black & Veatch Family of Companies in Georgia is seeking a Lineman Apprentice 1 to assist with installing and repairing cables in electrical power/distribution systems in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards. You may erect poles and light or heavy-duty transmission towers.

The role involves climbing poles, driving to job sites, and performing a range of lineman tasks under supervision.

Qualifications

• NCCER Construction Craft Laborer certification is preferred.
• NCCER Core Curriculum or equivalent Craft Training Program is preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old and have basic tool knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Assist with installing or repairing cables or wires in electrical power/distribution systems according to plans and specs.
• Use hand and power tools to measure, cut, assemble, install, test or repair cables or wires.
• Climb poles or use bucket trucks to access equipment and perform installations.
• Identify and address safety hazards; follow lockout/tagout procedures and site safety plans.
• Coordinate work with crew members and other trades on the job site.
