Job summary

Ffe-Transportation-Services,-Inc. in Lancaster, TX seeks a Transportation Manager to supervise drivers, enforce company policy, and coordinate load assignments to meet service requirements.

Analyze workloads, costs, safety issues, and performance, and act as the primary liaison between drivers and management. The role requires strong organizational and communication skills, knowledge of DOT regulations, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and AS400.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• 3+ years of transportation or logistics management experience.
• In-depth knowledge of transportation, motor carriers, and fleet industry.
• Current working knowledge of DOT, Federal & State Regulations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise assigned drivers to ensure adherence to company policy and performance reviews.
• Operate as the primary liaison between drivers and management.
• Interact effectively with internal and external customers.
• Provide shift flexibility to support 24x7 nationwide fleet coverage.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job description

• Able to work every Saturday with some early shifts; shift is Sunday through Thursday
• Use discretion to select the most optimal driver, equipment, and load assignment while evaluating company service requirements, operating costs, safety issues, as well as anticipated workloads and many other factors that vary each day
• Heavy interaction daily with drivers; primary liaison between drivers and management
• Directly supervise assigned drivers to include adherence to company policy, performance counseling and reviews up to and including administering disciplinary action and recommendations for promotion, transfer or termination
• Must be able to effectively interact with all aspects of the business, internal and external customers
• Some shift flexibility is required, as we provide 24x7 coverage for a nationwide fleet
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• 3+ years of current transportation or logistics management experience (Required)
• In-depth knowledge of transportation, motor carriers, and fleet industry
• Current working knowledge of DOT, Federal & State Regulations
• Ability to communicate, manage, and administer, and the ability to influence
• Highly organized with exceptional follow-up/through abilities
• Possess excellent verbal and written communication
• Organizational skills for planning, decision-making and executing with excellence
• Highly motivated, flexible, and have a great attitude
• Proficient in Microsoft software such as Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Current working knowledge of AS400 software
• Must be able to interact well with others
• Must be able to work independently or in a team setting
• Must be capable of working under tight time constraints in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities Required
• Individual must be flexible; hours will be based on Customer needs; weekend shifts may be required
