Job summary

Freeman Jet Center is seeking a Line Service Technician to provide elite customer service to crew and passengers on the ground, including fueling, aircraft placement, and radio communication with aviation representatives.

The role supports operation of Freeman Jet Center services for private and military aircraft, in a team environment, with ongoing training and a strong safety focus.

Qualifications

  • Customer service experience in service industry
  • Ability to operate a vehicle and maintain insurability with clean driving record
  • Proficiency with basic computer applications (Microsoft Office)

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and direct arriving and departing aircraft with proper chocks and cones
  • Fuel movement, quality control, disposal, and paperwork
  • Greet passengers, pilots and crew; assist with luggage; communicate via radio

The Line Service Technician plays a vital role in our daily operations and will provide an elite level of customer service to crew and passengers on the ground by fueling and positioning aircraft, assisting with luggage and effectively communicating on the radio with aviation customer service representatives.

Requirements
Responsibilities and Duties
  • Coordinate and direct arriving and departing aircraft including proper placement of chocks and cones
  • Aircraft movement, placement, fueling, and storage
  • Fuel movement- quality control, disposal, and paperwork
  • Facility maintenance and upkeep
  • Greet passengers, pilots and crew
  • Bi-weekly crew meetings
  • Annual re-current training
  • Equipment preventive maintenance
  • Maintain a professional appearance and manner with all customers and employees
  • Operation of company equipment including fuel trucks, tugs, forklift, lav service cart, GPUs
  • Security checks and light duty care of the facilities
Competencies
  • Customer focus-naturally outgoing/extroverted
  • Communicate with customers and employees in person, on phone, and radio communications
  • Must be able to operate a motor vehicle and be insurable by our insurance company (Requires clean driving record)
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft office products
  • Basic mathematical knowledge
Reporting Relationship

This position reports to a Line Service Supervisor and/or Line Service Manager.

Work Environment

This position works outside in all types of weather conditions and direct contact with both moving and non-moving aircraft. This position may be exposed to hazardous noise levels, chemicals, fumes, and machinery. Personal protective equipment is provided.

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Possible exposure to hazardous noise levels, chemicals, fumes, and machinery
  • Outside work in all types of weather conditions
  • Position may require bending, lifting, walking, jogging, stooping, squatting, gripping, and climbing a ladder
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This position is 40 hours per week, shift work, and requires working evenings, weekends, and on scheduled company holidays.

Salary

$15.00 per hour, DOE

Travel

No travel is expected for this position.

Education, Experience, And Eligibility Qualifications
  • Customer service experience in the service industry preferred
  • Prior aircraft ground handling experience a plus
  • High School Diploma
  • Entry level position
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Acceptable driving record
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Zero tolerance drug free employer includes pre-employment and random screening
  • No felonies over the previous 10 years
