Job summary

Job description

The line service manager is responsible for creating and leading an exceptional line service team. This position is responsible for ensuring efficient service for all internal and external customers by using excellent, in-depth knowledge of company procedures. The line service manager will work closely with the customer service manager and FBO manager.

Responsibilities and Duties
  1. Manage the line service department by prioritizing, assigning, and monitoring supervisors’ work; conduct performance evaluations with supervisors and provide training goals with Training/Safety Tech.
  2. Review line service team payroll, manage overtime, and submit to payroll for processing.
  3. Lead the hiring process to create a well‑rounded team with customer and safety focus.
  4. Oversee facility startup to include facility security, vehicle maintenance checks, equipment service and status.
  5. Fuel management – monitor fuel inventory, reconcile load receipts, and order fuel as needed.
  6. Communicate with supervisors in daily pass‑down meetings.
  7. Manage aircraft storage, movement, hangar arrangement, and anticipate needs for arrivals and departures.
  8. Implement damage prevention and safety procedures.
  9. Support trainers, safety techs, and the line service team.
  10. Conduct team training that meets DOT regulations.
Competencies
  1. Customer focus – naturally outgoing and extroverted.
  2. Effective communication with customers and employees in person, on the phone, and via radio.
  3. Must be able to operate a motor vehicle and be insurable by the company’s insurance (clean driving record required).
  4. Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office products.
  5. Basic mathematical knowledge.
  6. Bi‑lingual preferred.
Reporting Relationship

This position reports to the General Manager.

Work Environment

The position works outdoors in all types of weather conditions and has direct contact with both moving and non‑moving aircraft. It may expose the employee to hazardous noise levels, chemicals, fumes, and machinery.

Physical Demands
  1. Must be able to lift 75 pounds.
  2. Possible exposure to hazardous noise levels, chemicals, fumes, and machinery.
  3. Outdoors work in all weather conditions.
  4. Requires bending, lifting, walking, stooping, squatting, gripping, and climbing a ladder.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is an exempt position. It may require working evenings, weekends, and on scheduled company holidays.

Travel

No travel is expected for this position.

Education, Experience and Eligibility Qualifications
  1. Minimum three (3) years of line service experience, including fuel management.
  2. Minimum three (3) years of employment management, scheduling, performance review, and supervisory duties.
  3. High School Diploma or equivalent.
  4. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  5. Acceptable driving record.
  6. Ability to pass a background check.
  7. Zero‑tolerance drug‑free employer includes pre‑employment and random screening.
