Qualifications

• Professional experience in a live television control room environment.
• Line producing experience in the control room.
• Thorough knowledge of U.S. business news and politics.
• Strong editorial judgment.
• Ability to create compelling graphics for air.
• Ability to work under intense deadline pressures.
• Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field preferred, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Build fast-paced, compelling newscasts under deadline pressure.
• Pitch and execute creative and innovative ideas for segments and guests.
• Coordinate with Associate Producers, Bookers, and Production Assistants.
• Write dynamic teases for the show.
• Time the show in the control room and communicate with the anchor clearly.
• Arrange and create story placement, graphics, writing, and all editorial and production elements.
• Communicate with on-air talent, reporters, guests, and director to ensure proper execution.
• Collaborate with the showrunner and show team.
• Participate in editorial planning and direction of the show.
• Cut video and audio, and book guests; contribute to social media as needed.
