Job summary

Safeway is seeking a Prep Cook to support daily kitchen operations with hands-on food preparation, precise portioning, and fast-paced collaboration with the team. You will chop, slice, measure, and assemble ingredients to ensure meals are ready for cooking and service, while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Ideally you bring prior kitchen experience, follow recipes accurately, and adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic store environment.

Qualifications

• Prior food preparation, kitchen, or food service experience preferred.
• Ability to follow recipes and written or verbal instructions.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices required.
• Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely following training.
• Availability to work varying shifts including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients by chopping, slicing, measuring, and assembling items.
• Maintain steady production flow and assist service.
