Job summary

Adecco is seeking a Line Packer in Shirley, NY to support packaging operations across 1st, 2nd and 3rd shifts. The role involves packaging, feeding product to the line, box creation, tamper seals, and adherence to safety standards.

Employees must wear safety shoes and operate in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include assisting with line operations, providing back-up coverage for a Machine Operator, and following GMP, Food Safety and Health & Safety policies while upholding company

Responsibilities

• Perform general plant tasks including packaging and feeding product to the line.
• Make boxes and apply tamper seals, close lids and prepare packaging as needed.
• Back-up Machine Operator duties for coverage as required.
• Follow Food Safety, GMPs and Health & Safety policies at all times.
• Report hazardous or unsafe conditions and wear required PPE.

Job description

JOB TITLE: Line Packer OPEN SHIFTS: 1st, 2nd, 3rd shift

PAY RATE 1st: $17.50 (6am-2pm)

PAY RATE 2nd: $18.00 (2pm-10pm)

PAY RATE 3rd: $19.50 (10pm-6am)

Under the general supervision of the Machine Operator, Area Leader, Production Supervisor and/or Plant Manager; the General Production Worker will be responsible to follow directions for various plant tasks to ensure good quality products are efficiently manufactured at all times.

Responsible for performing various general plant tasks; packaging, feeding product to the line and/or packaging, making boxes, applying tamper seals, closing lids, etc. that help to ensure good quality product is produced at all times.

• Responsible for performing any task that will be associated with the assembly or packaging of the product.
• Responsible to perform the job responsibilities of a back-up Machine Operator for coverage purpose from time to time.
• Responsible for practicing and adhering to Food Safety, GMP’s (Good Manufacturing
• Practices) and Health and Safety policy at all times.
• Responsible for practicing and adhering to plant policies and best practices.
• Responsible for following plants core values; Respect, Direct Communication & Quality.
• Responsible for other reasonable duties as assigned by the Area Leader/Supervisor and/or Plant Manager.
• Follow company’s health and safety program, rules and procedures and work in compliance with health and safety-related legislation and codes.
• Report all incidents, injuries, illnesses, and near misses to your supervisor.
• Use or wear safety equipment and personal protective equipment required by the company.
• Report to supervisor any hazardous or unsafe conditions, absence or defects in equipment and any contravention of health and safety legislation.

Indicate any food safety responsibilities as per the local requirements, as well as noting if a trained backup is required.
